Private Schools Closed by Swine Flu

Several private schools have closed as a result of the swine flu epidemic. Here's a list of schools which are known to have closed until Monday, May 4, 2009.

  • Bishop Kearny High School, Brooklyn, NY
  • Episcopal Academy, Houston, TX
  • Good Shepherd School, Brooklyn, NY
  • Holy Cross Christian School, Burleson, TX
  • Marmion Academy, Aurora, IL
  • Newberry Academy, Newberry, SC
  • St. Brigid's School, Brooklyn, NY
  • St. Francis Preparatory School, Fresh Meadows, NY
  • St. Mel School, Fair Oaks, CA
  • Trinity Valley School, Fort Worth, TX
  • Universal Academy, Irving, TX

Athletic events in Texas have been postponed until mid-May according to the UIL, which organizes inter-school sporting events.

Private schools within New Braunfels and Comal Independent School Districts in Texas are also closed.
